The final four will be down to three

“There aren’t enough cougars on the planet to keep Casey alive.” — MTV News’ Jim Cantiello.

This comment was made in light of Casey James choosing to sing “Mrs. Robinson” by Simon and Garfunkel from the movie “The Graduate” last night, which prompted jokes about Casey and idol judge, Kara DioGuardi.

This is the third time MTV has predict that Casey was going home.  They may finally be right, although Michael Lynche didn’t fair much better with his song from the movie “Free Willy”, Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There”.  Simon apparently had never heard of the movie or the song.   Lynche’s performance was a “snooze-fest.”

None of the idol contenders knocked it out of the park, but Crystal Bowersox did a nice job with a song from “Caddy Shack”, Kenny Loggin’s “I’m Alright”.  Lee Dewyze sang, “A Kiss From A Rose” originally sung by Seal for “Batman Returns.” His performance was solid but not impressive.

The duets were interesting but I didn’t enjoy them as much as the judges seemed to.  At least they weren’t lip syncing like they do on the group songs.

So will it be bye bye Casey or will Big Mike finally out stay his judges save?
