a deep hole

Tomorrow morning we leave for our trip to Portland.  This time along the way we are going to visit Crater Lake, the deepest hole lake in the U.S.  Ricky qualifies for the senior pass which get us into all national parks for a one time fee of 10 dollars, lifetime membership.

We drove right past this place last time.   This time the weather is better and hopefully we can take some good pictures.  There is something called “The old man in the Lake” (no it’s not Ricky, he can’t swim).   It’s a tree stump that has been bobbing around the lake for over a century.  The cold water preserves it. Crater lake has no rivers that feed into it.  Its water source is strictly rain fall and snow melt. (My water source is a beer tap or a bottle of scotch).  Any way we plan to drive around the rim and take it all in, pun intended.
