Happy Friday!

Since it is Friday, I feel like talking about something fun.  Not that Noom isn’t fun. Especially the fact that I am losing weight and feeling better.  But as some of my old followers know I usually have quite a diverse set of topics on this site. So what is fun during a pandemic lockdown?  Well for starters the President says we may be close to normal by the 4th of July.  This means we can plan for vacations instead of staycations.  Hip Hip Hooray.

I think I mentioned to that we have plans for Palm Springs in May.  May is the projected date that most Americans will have the vaccine.  Hip Hip Hooray again!  I am hopeful that things will pick up and our visit might include some socially distanced night life (until we are friends!).  But our goal is to check out some real estate.  My retirement is a year away and I don’t have any friends in Palm Springs.

So what is fun for this weekend?  Well, Nevada is set to open up to 50% next Wednesday.  Some establishments have begun preparing for this increase.  I noticed things moving around to make room for more games on the casino floors.  The restaurants are taking tables out of storage and setting them up too. I am hopeful that live entertainment might return, behind barriers of course. It seems so sterile now without the live music. And those people need to make money. Starving artists indeed.

There is a new exhibit at the Nevada Museum of Art, Victorian Radicals. Just might check it out.

Dante Gabriel Rosetta Proserpine

In the second half of the nineteenth century, a group of iconoclastic creators pushed against industrialization to enlighten humanity with their revolutionary take on beauty. Drawn from the collection of the city of Birmingham, United Kingdom, Victorian Radicals brings together more than 145 paintings, works on paper, and decorative objects—many of which have never been exhibited outside the U.K.—to illuminate this dynamic period of British art.

Proceed with caution is the order of the day.  We will still be wearing masks and keeping our distance.  But it will be nice to get out of the house.  Happy Friday everyone.  Enjoy the day.
